Here is a super fun recipe that will keep you kids busy for hours. I saw this recipe a while back and knew we had to make it for Halloween.

Here is my daughter, kneading away, to make the slime come together. Make sure that when you make this recipe you pour the glue mixture into the borax mixture. If you do the opposite, your slime will still turn out, but you will have to knead it for like 10 minutes. Whereas if you do it the right way it should only take a minute or two for the slime to come together.

Be forewarned though, this stuff is a little sticky. It won’t stain or anything cause the borax is actually a laundry detergent, but not everyone might love the sticky consistency. At least my baby didn’t. As you can see he was a little distressed by the fact that he couldn’t get it all off his hands. But the thing that was nice is if this gets on cloths it will just wash off, and if it gets on the floor or carpet use a wet towel and some water and it will come right out. Super fun!! Enjoy!

Halloween Slime Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon borax powder
  • 1 1/2 cups water, divided
  • 4 oz (1/2 cup) Elmer’s glue, clear or white
  • food coloring

Add borax powder to 1 cup of water in medium mixing bowl and stir to dissolve. Set aside. Pour glue into a small bowl and add 1/2 cup water. Add a few drops of food coloring until desired color is reached and then stir to mix glue solution until smooth. Pour the glue mixture into the borax mixture and watch the solids start to form. Stir for a few moments and then use your hands to gather mass. The mixture will be very soft and wet. Keep kneading until it firms up and feels dry. Discard excess liquid in bowl. The more you knead and play with the slime the firmer it will become. Store in a ziplock bag or air tight container and slime will keep indefinitely.
